humid3.jpg (8653 bytes) When the air is dry, the use of a guitar humidifier is critical since wood shrinks as it dries. To avoid buzzing and cracking wood, a humidifier should be used when the relative humidity is below 40%. Hudifiers which are stored in guitar case compartment may not adequately humidify the guitar body. The Milburn Humidifier is designed to provide moisture to the inside of the instrument.

The Milburn Guitar Humidifier is safe and easily used. When the humidifier is needed, unscrew the top (the end with "wings") and place the wick in a glass of water as shown. The use of distilled water is recommended to prevent discoloration of the wick. After 5 minutes the wick will be completely saturated with water. Wipe any excess water from the wick to prevent dripping and screw the top back onto the humidifier body. humid2.jpg humid1.jpg (8848 bytes)

Insert the body of the humidifier between the third and fourth strings until the strings seat in the notch just below the wings. Slip the first and sixth strings into their respective notches in the wings as shown. Check the dampness of the wick every day or two as needed.
