Born in 1975, he studied in Milan with Paola Coppi and graduated with full
marks 'cum laude" at the 'G. Tartini" Conservatory', Trieste, in 1996. He was a
pupil of Frederic Zigante at the Foundation Mozart in Lausanne, and studied
with Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena and at the
Musik-Akademie in Basel, where he got the Solistendiplom in 2000.

The juries of several international competitions have acknowledged his
merits. He won second prize at the first International Competition "Dc Bonis",
Cosenza. In 1996 he won the first prize at the T.I.M in Rome and achieved the
first prize and the special prize "R. Chiesa" at the twenty-first Gargnano
International Competition. The following year he was awarded the second prize
at the XLIII International Competition "Maria Canals" in Barcelona, and the first
prize at the thirtieth International Competition "Citta di Alessandria -.Pittaluga".
In 1999 he got the ARAM prize in Rome and the first prize at the XX
International Competition 'M. Giuliani" in Ban. The same year he was the first
Italian guitarist to be awarded the first prize at the prestigious seventeenth
Guitar Foundation of America Competition in Charleston, SC, which included a
recording on the NAXOS and Mel Bay record labels and a long solo concert
tour touching over 50 cities of USA and Canada.

He has toured Europe, America, and Africa as a soloist and with
orchestra. He recorded the concert works of the Spanish composer Dionisio
Aguado (1784-1849) (CD 5TR33563), and a CD dedicated to the Italian
composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (Escarraman op. /77 and other works,
NAXOS 8.554831).

"He manages to create such a tension and a participation which we seldom
happen to observe. The extremely natural way of playing, the excellent quality
of the sound, the meaningfulness he is able to assign to every single note... all
this evidences a very strong musical instinct. A musician to remember and to
pay attention to".."
— Chitarre VI 1995

"Technical skilfulness, precision and a maturity in the performance which can compete with the biggest names"
— Corriere dell'Arte IV 1997

"His way of playing consists of two main ingredients: a great technical facility
and an instinctive musicalness thet immediately reaches the audience."
— Filippo Michelangeli, Suonare IX 1997
