참고로 어느싸이트에서 나온 Elliot Fisk의 소개에서 그의 이름을 찾을 수가 있네여.
ELIOT FISK, Guitar

A born risk-taker and a restless, imaginative virtuoso, Eliot Fisk has brought an entirely new dimension to classical guitar performance. His repertoire includes a large body of guitar music created by him through commissions as well as his own transcriptions of works by Bach, Scarlatti, Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Granados, Albe?z and others. Voted Best Classical Guitarist in the 26th Annual Guitar Player Magazine Reader's Poll, Eliot Fisk recently performed at a private reception for President and Mrs. Clinton and the King, Queen and Crown Prince of Spain in the legendary Andalucian city of Granada.

Eliot Fisk's many repeat solo engagements in major halls throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia are complemented by numerous concerto appearances with orchestra and a wide variety of chamber music combinations. In addition to his regular partner, flutist Paula Robison, he frequently performs with flamenco guitarist Paco Pe?, master of castanets Lucero Tena, Turkish music specialist Burhan Ocal, and the Shanghai String Quartet. He had also performed with such chamber music partners as Victoria de los Angeles, Gidon Kremer, Ruggiero Ricci, double bassist Gary Karr, the Chiligirian and Juilliard Quartets, and the late jazz guitarist Joe Pass.

In addition to his European appearances, Eliot Fisk's schedule for 1999/2000 includes two American tours. In the fall, he collaborated with percussionist Burhan Ocal on a tour throughout the Southwest, as well as to California, Connecticut and Virginia. He also returned for a solo tour in which he appears with orchestras and in recital throughout the country.

In 1998 Eliot Fisk gave four notable first performances: In Italy he performed a recently discovered work of Ottorino Respighi; he joined the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center for George Rochberg's "Eden: Out of Time and Out of Space, " commissioned for Mr. Fisk by the Society; at the Wien Modern Festival he premiered a work by Christobal Halffter; and in Munich he gave the first performance outside of Greece of the Fantasy for Guitar and Orchestra by Mikis Theodorakis. During the 1998/99 season, he also toured the Far East and gave performances in Spain, Macedonia, Italy, Germany and Austria.

Among the new works dedicated to Eliot Fisk are Luciano Berio's Sequenza XI for solo guitar, premiered by Mr. Fisk in 1998, and Chemin V for guitar and orchestra, premiered in September 1992 by the Orchester der Beethovenhalle Bonn with Maestro Berio conducting. Other works written for Mr. Fisk include George Rochberg's Muse of Fire commissioned by Carnegie Hall and performed by Mr. Fisk and Paula Robison during the hall's centennial session in 1991; Robert Beaser's Mountain Songs (also for the Fisk-Robison duo) available on a MusicMasters disc nominated for a 1987 Grammy Award, and solo guitar works by Beaser, Rochberg and Nicholas Maw. At the express recommendation of Andr? Segovia, Eliot Fisk worked with Ernesto Halffter to revive the eminent Spanish composer's Concierto for guitar and orchestra for a performance with the Spanish National Orchestra under Victor Pablo in Madrid. In 1996, Senora Emilia Segovia, widow of the great Andr? Segovia, granted Eliot Fisk exclusive first performance and recording rights to a number of recently discovered compositions of the Maestro. Mr. Fisk's recording of these and other works on MusiMasters, Segovia Canciones Populares entered the Billboard chart of classical best sellers.

Mr. Fisk's numerous other recordings have also received exceptional acclaim. His Paganini: 24 Caprices, in his own transcription for guitar, climbed to 14th place on the Billboard classical charts and elicited praise from critics and colleagues around the world. His transcription and 1994 recording of George Rochberg's Caprice Variations on MusicMasters (51 variations on the 24th Caprice of Paganini) was welcomed by the composer as a "recomposition." In his notes accompanying Mr. Fisk's recording, Rochberg wrote, "Besides producing an unbelievable extension of guitar technique, [Mr. Fisk] has at the same time explored and utilized every conceivable expressive possibility of the instrument. No composer I can think of could have imagined these possibilities. One would have to be a guitarist/artist of Fisk's caliber to be able to imagine what he, in fact, did."

In addition to his performing career, Eliot Fisk has a deep commitment to teaching. His class at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, where he is assisted by the brilliant Cuban virtuoso <<<<>>>>, includes students from over a dozen different countries, many of them top prize winners in international competitions. In Granada, Mr. Fisk has founded an annual guitar course that takes placeduring Easter in Granada, with support from the city government's department of cultural affairs and tourism. In 1996, he joined the faculty of the New England Conservatory in Boston where he hopes to make his lifelong interest in musical outreach program in schools, churches, prisons and senior citizen centers an integral part of the guitar program. Mr. Fisk's numerous transcriptions are published by Ricordi (Milan), Guitar Solo Publications (San Francisco), Union Musical Ediciones (Madrid) and Max Eschig (Paris).

A native of Philadelphia, Eliot earned his M.M.A. degree from Yale University, where he studied with harpsichordist Ralph Kilpartrick. Immediately after graduation, he was asked to found the Guitar Department at the Yale School of Music. In 1974 he was introduced to his idol, Andr? Segovia, who coached him privately for several years. In 1981 Segovia wrote, "I consider Eliot Fisk as one of the most brilliant, intelligent and gifted young musical artists of our time, not only among guitarists but in all the general field of instrumentalists. His clear and flexible technique, his noble style of interpreting the beauty of classic compositions as well as the colorful music of today, put him at the top line of our artistic world."
