이번 연주는 동요 ' 섬집아기' 입니다.

작곡가 이흥렬(1909∼1980)은 함경남도 원산 출생으로 1937년 동요집 『꽃동산』을 출간하였으며 가곡과 동요 400여 곡을 작곡하였다.

이번에 연주한 '섬 집 아기'는 밝고 희망적인 내용의 동요가 아님에도 집에 혼자 남겨져 잠드는 아기의 모습과 굴 바구니를 다 채우지 못하고 달려오는 엄마의 모습을 통해 어려운 현실과 엄마의 애틋한 마음을 서정적으로 표현한 노래로 많은 분들의 사랑을 받고 있는 곡 입니다.
