이번  편곡 악보는 'Olivia Newton-John (올리비아 뉴톤 존)'의 'Let Me Be There' 입니다.


'올리비아(Olivia Newton-John)'는 영국 캠브리지에서 태어났지만 대학교수인 그녀의 아버지를 따라 5살 때 가족이 호주로 이사하면서 태평양의 따스한 기운 속에서 성장하게 됩니다.


십대 시절이 끝나갈 무렵부터 올리비아는 컨트리에서 차츰 팝음악 쪽으로 관심사가 바뀌기 시작하며 호주에서의 탤런트 선발대회에서 우승한 그녀는 부상으로 한창 활성화되고 있던 60년대 말의 영국 팝 음악계를 견학할 기회를 갖습니다.


이후 70년대 초 영국에서 가장 인기를 얻은 젊은 팝 보컬리스트로 인정을 받으며, 영국에서의 성공은 곧 그녀에게 더 큰 음악시장인 미국으로 진출할 수 있게 동기를 부여하게 되고  얼마 후 미국의 레코드사와 계약을 맺고 70년대 초 화려한 진출을 하게 됩니다.


73년 MCA 레이블에서  나온 그녀의 첫 싱글인 'Let Me Be There'은 팝과 컨트리 양쪽을 모두 만족시킬 수 있는 가능성을 보여준 곡으로 73년 말 턴트리 차트 10위안에 진입하는 성공을 거두지요.


다음해인 74년에는 그녀의 미국진출이 단지 미모덕을 본 요행이었다는 주위의 달갑지 않은 시선을 단번에 날려버릴 빅 히트곡인 'If You Love Me(Let Me Know)'를 컨트리 차트 정상에 올려놓으며 순식간에 골드 레코드를 기록하게 되는데,  '컨트리(Country)' 음악계에 있어서 그녀의 위치를 탄탄하게 다져놓게 된 것은 다름아닌 'Let me be there'라고 할 수 있겠습니다.

이 곡은 16회 '그래미(Grammy)' 최우수 '컨트리(Country)' 여자가수에 추천되는 영광을 안겨 주기도 하였고 국내에서도 대단한 '히트(Hit)'를 했고 많은 가수들이 번안해서 부른 바 있습니다.
