Ignacio M. Rozas
Ignacio M. Rozas has ceased building his guitars. Ignacio M. Rozas was born in 1943 in Madrid. As a young man, he apprenticed with José Ramirez, working there from 1959 to 1969. After leaving Ramirez, he went to work for Manuel Contreras, a former Ramirez craftsmen who had set up his own shop. Ignacio work as a luthier for Contreras from 1970 to 1987. In that year, he established his own shop. Rozas makes professional guitars himself, by hand using traditional techniques. He does not have any assistants. Like many in Madrid, his shop also sells a line of factory made guitars built to his specifications, that bear his label. The models listed here are only those made by Rozas personally.In April of 2001 due to financial difficulties Ignacio decided to cease building his own guitars and has taken a job in another workshop.
