Paul Fischer

Paul Fischer was born in the Isle of Mann, England, on August 20, 1941. From 1956 to 1961 he apprenticed with harpsichord and spinet maker Robert Goble. His higher education consisted of studies at the City and Guilds of London Institute and the Oxford College of Technology. After serving the military, Fischer received a position as manager of master builder David Rubio's studios. He remained in his emply for six years. It was in this shop that he gained valuable experience in instrument making. Aside from guitars, he made harpsichords, lutes and early fretted instruments. Paul Fischer opened his own work-place in 1973. He has established himself as one of the worlds foremost builders.
