아마도 이런 연유가 아닐까 합니다만...

허허...병철님.
제가 왜 불쾌하겠습니까...궁금한 것을 제때 알려드리지 못한 것이 오히려 죄송하죠.
그런데 굳이 파크닝의 요크곡 연주에 왜 이렇게까지 관심이 많으신지가 오히려 제쪽에서 넘넘 궁금하군요...워낙 특이한 질문이시라...

제가 이후 찾아본 것들과 기왕에 요크에 대해 알고 있는 것으로 추측해 본다면 아마 이런 연유인 듯 합니다.
요크는 아시겠습니다만 카를로 도메니코니나 롤앙 디안즈와 같이 기타를 사용한 작곡을 겸하는 인물로 특히 이 3명의 연주자 겸 작곡가들은 기타의 지판에 통달해 있는지라 연주회장에서의 즉흥연주에도 강합니다.
이러한 즉흥연주의 능력은 때때로 여러가지 기존곡들의 조합 형태로 새로운 곡을 탄생시키기도 하는데 요크의 곡 중에도 그런 것들이 종종 보이는데요....

제가 구해본 자료에 의하면 파크닝은 "Jubilation"이라는 제하로 "Sunburst"를 녹음했다고 되어 있는데(아래 영문 참고) 두곡간에 다소의 차이가 있는 것은 위에서 말씀드린 요크의 자유분방한 특성도 있고 해서 파크닝이 별 부담없이 원곡에 자신의 취향대로 약간의 조작을 가하여 녹음한 것이 아닌가 생각합니다.

그리고 역시 아시겠습니다만 애초에 요크는 "Sunburst"를 클래식 기타를 위해 작곡한 것이 아니라 스틸현 기타를 위해 작곡하였습니다....그의 스틸현 연주를 우연히 연주회장에서 들은 존 윌리암스가 이 곡을 "spirit of guitar" 앨범에 첫곡으로 실어 오늘날 많은 클래식 기타 애호가들에게 요크가 널리 알려지게 되었으니 아이로니컬한 일이죠.

원곡 자체가 그러했으니 제 추측으로 요크 자신도 이 곡을 처음 작곡하여 연주햇을 무렵에는 오늘날 우리가 연주하고 있는 것과는 자못 또다른 연주를 스틸기타로 연주장에서 연주했을 가능성도 다분합니다.

아래에 참고로 올린 글에도 있듯이 요크의 작품의 이러한 특성은 그의 또다른 곡인 "perfect sky"에서도 나타나는 바 여러가지 곡들의 짬뽕(?) 양상도 보여줍니다....심지어 스누피 만화의 캐릭터 주제곡까지 사용하죠.

이런 정도로 어느정도 의문이 풀리실 수 있으실른지요...

...Andrew York's "Perfect Sky" has the entire package for anyone with an appreciation for excellence in composition, arrangement, and stunning execution on the guitar. The opening track, "Sunburst", which has been recorded by both Christopher Parkening (under the title "Jubilation") and John Williams, showcases York's talent both as a gifted composer and as a master of navigating the fretboard, as especially evidenced by the "burst" of notes that conclude the song. Vince Guaraldi's "Linus & Lucy" is covered here, and is another highlight. On this tune, York simultaneously -- and seemingly effortlessly -- carries both the bass line and melody to produce a version that surpasses the original in quality. And once again, York finishes beautifully, this time with an array of harmonics reminiscent of Weather Report bass player Jaco Pastorius (1951-1987), whose own "Word of Mouth" album (Warner Brothers, 1981) York has praised. Other highlights of "Perfect Sky" include "Green Galliard", "Rock Skippin' Creekside", "Mysterious Barricades", and "Muir Woods". The CD represents, for the most part, York's emerging potential as a classical guitarist and composer in the period immediately following the completion of his studies at the University of Southern California in 1986. Perhaps the only weakness of the CD is that while York proves his versatility on steel string, nylon string, and electric guitar on this album, the electric guitar recordings do not match the acoustic guitar tracks in quality. But this is really just a further testament to York's extreme ability to combine playing and composing for the acoustic guitar at a level that may not be matched currently or in the near future. Note: the 1996 re-release of "Perfect Sky" includes "Andecy", a track from the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler.
