북유럽의 절제와 감성이 묻어나는 기타음악의 미학
덴마크에서 출생한 기타리스트 피터 하워드 젠슨은 트래디셔널 기타 문학과 바하,하이든,슈베르트,그리그의 음악등을 편곡해 클래식음악의 장을 넓혔다. 필하모니아 콰르텟 베를린과함께 시리즈 연주를 했고 보케리니,슈베르트,자나첵,멘델스존을 연주할땐 프로그램에서 다섯번째 악기로 기타가 사용되었다. 런던, 파리, 베를린, 밀란, 비엔나, 워싱턴, 부에노스 아이레스, 뉴욕의 카네기 홀과 링컨센터 등 세계중심지에서 수많은 콘서트를 가진 젠슨은 많은 연주경력을 통하여 높이 평가되고 있다. 1989년 젠슨은 북유럽인 기타리스트 최초로 뉴욕의 맨하탄 음악학교에서 전문 연주자 과정(Professional Studies Diploma)을 수여받았다. 젠슨은 Simon Spies Foundation 과 King Fredrick과 Queen Ingrid Grant 로 부터 연주공로상을 수여받았다.
Peter Howard Jensen / Guitar
Danish-born quitarist Peter Howard Jensen first attracted attention when he received the prestigious King Frederik and Queen Ingrid’s Grant for Outstanding Achievement in Performance. This honor was followed by a command performance at the Grasten Castle.
Hailed by critics in Denmark for his “wonderful playing and great musicianship,” his active career has taken him across Europe and North America.
Mr. Jensen’s 2001-2002 season engagements include performances in London, Paris, Berlin, and Milan. His recital work this year will take him to major cities throughout the Unitesd States, including Washington D.C., and New York City.
Born in Svendborg, Denmark, Peter Howard Jensen received his training at the Carl Nielson Academy of Music, and he became the first Scandinavian guitarist to receive the Professional Studies Diploma from Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Peter Howard Jensen is the recipient of the Simon Spies Foundation’s Musicprize, and he has represented Denmark at the European day of Music in Segovia, Spain.
